About KHCA

Kensington Heights is a community in Montgomery County, Maryland.  The Kensington Heights Citizens Association (KHCA) is a civic association of all persons residing within Kensington Heights plus a small number of adjacent streets that have been incorporated into the Association over time.  KHCA operates regardless of race, color, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, marital status, disability, religious or political affiliation, age, or sexual orientation.
The primary purpose of KHCA is to support the quality of life in Kensington Heights by promoting the highest levels of community responsibility.  The secondary purpose of KHCA is to collect input and inform members about issues that impact the residential character of Kensington Heights.
The Kensington Heights Citizens Association was formed in the mid-1950s and was headed for a long time by Faulkner Place resident Don Reed, Sr., who was also instrumental in starting the Kenmont Swim & Tennis Club on the east end of Faulkner.  KHCA was re-invigorated in 1997 when a small group of residents decided to fight Giant Food's plan to build a new store on land directly bordering the neighborhood that was zoned for single-family homes; the Association wanted to preserve the residential character of our community and was successful in doing so.
KHCA currently represents 717 single-family homes.  We welcome you to our home on the Web.
